Compare the two sides of a drawing
Start with one butterfly and choose whether to repeat the same colors on both wings. Point out a pair of matching shapes, then let the child decide how to fill them. The pictures are decorative designs, not species identification or life-cycle diagrams. A finished page can sit beside plant drawings in a garden-themed folder without being treated as a scientific reference.
Prepare a nature craft station
Place pencils or crayons beside a few different printed pages and let each person select a design. Print at actual size so the wing patterns have room for coloring. On the window-box page, color the flowers separately before choosing the wing colors. Keep unused pages for another session; every sheet is a complete activity and requires no assembly or purchase of another file.
